Nestled in the hillside of the Punta Campanella National Park and surrounded by a local farming community passionate about their fruit and vegetable gardens, lies Villa Serena.
Villa Serena is a perfect family cottage surrounded by large enclosed gardens and an abundance of indoor and outdoor living space. Guests have the opportunity to relax in a rural setting, enjoy the sunset over Capri Island, and savour the flavours of a homemade wood fired pizza on the outdoor dining terrace.
The Villa consists of the main villa (split over two-levels) with five bedrooms sleeping 9 people, and a separate lower-ground annex, which accommodates up to 4 people.
The Main Villa
At the entrance to Villa Serena, there is a large living and dining area, with an original fireplace and access to a large terrace with outdoor seating. Two comfortable sofas offer a warm and welcoming bolthole, and the traditional wooden furnishings, artworks and country style décor give a feeling of stepping back in time.
Passing through a quaint sewing room with wooden furnishings and antiques you will reach a second dining area and the main kitchen. The kitchen is spacious and boasts all of the necessary equipment, including, gas hob, oven, large refrigerator/freezer, microwave and kettle.
Ideally located, the kitchen leads straight onto an oversized garden terrace equipped with wood fired pizza oven for the gourmet chef, and a shaded outdoor dining area with seating for up to 20 people.
The main villa contains five bedrooms, with the sixth and seventh located in the lower ground annex. Two double bedrooms and the main bathroom with bathtub are also located on the entry level of the villa, in addition to a wash room equipped with washing machine and ironing board.
From the main living room, a spiral staircase takes you to the second level of the villa which houses three bedrooms - one double, one twin and one single room, a kitchenette, second bathroom and access onto the rear balcony. Views of the local countryside and Gulf of Naples can be enjoyed from this upper level terrace.
Three of the bedrooms in the main villa are furnished with a queen-sized double bed and all rooms have ample wardrobe space. The fourth has two single beds, and the fifth one single bed. All bed-rooms are decorated in a clean, traditional style and are light-filled with views of the garden and surrounding hillside or Gulf of Naples and Capri Island.
Wireless internet connection is available throughout the main villa.
The Lower-ground Annex
The lower-ground annex offers a private retreat, with a double bedroom and connecting twin bed-room, bathroom, living and kitchenette.
The annex is very simply furnished and is an ideal space for a games area/TV room if travelling with children or young adults.
The Locality
The village of Termini is less than a kilometre away, and has a general food store, butcher, chemist, bar and restaurant. The small town of Sant' Agata Sui Due Golfi is 4km away, and offers a greater selection of family-run restaurants, gelaterias, fresh pasta shops, fruit and vegetable stores, mini-markets, bakeries, butchers and fishmongers, coffee bars and pubs.
There is a beautiful pebbled beach in the harbour of Marina del Cantone, about 3km from the villa, or the hidden inlet of Cala di Mitigliano can be reached on foot for the more adventurous nature lover.
For the avid hiker, the start of various hiking trails including, Punta Campanella, Mont San Costanzo and the Bay of Ieranto, are just steps from Villa Serena. In addition, day trips to Positano, the Amalfi coast and Capri Island are possible by either car or boat from Marina del Cantone.
A car is recommended for your stay at Villa Serena. There is a covered parking area for up to four cars within the grounds, accessed via a private gate.
